The Nova KBM Supervisory Board has appointed Josef Gröblacher, an experienced international banker, as the third member of the Nova KBM Management Board, subject to approval by the European Central Bank. Josef Gröblacher, who will join Robert Senica and Sabina Župec Kranjc on the Management Board, will take the role of Chief Operating Officer. The Nova KBM Supervisory Board believes that Gröblacher´s knowledge, skills and experience will significantly contribute to the further development of Nova KBM and its group, as well as the successful work of the Nova KBM Management Board.
The appointment of Josef Gröblacher was made on 22 July 2016 in accordance with the applicable Policy on the assessment of the suitability of members of the management bodies and key function holders (Fit and Proper Policy) and based on the positive opinion given by the Supervisory Board Nomination Committee. The expansion of the Management Board is one of the steps towards implementing the ambitious vision of Nova KBM´s owners of making Nova KBM one of the leading banks in Slovenia. Concern for effective management of information technology is the strategic objective of both Nova KBM and the Nova KBM Group, and all efforts are being taken to accomplish this objective in a responsible manner.
Josef Gröblacher has more than 15 years of leadership and management experience, especially in the areas of strategic management of information technology, banking operations, business process digitisation, project and change management, and cost optimization. Over the past years, he has successfully managed several projects of setting up and implementing new core IT banking systems. Currently, he is working at Sberbank Europe in Vienna as the Senior Adviser on Information Technology, in which position he provides assistance to the Sberbank Group Executive Operating Director. Between 2010 and 2015, he was a member of the Executive Board of Sberbank Hungary, prior to which, between 2007 and 2010, he acted as a member of the Executive Board of Volksbank Serbia (the predecessor of Sberbank). Before joining Volksbank Serbia, he worked at Hypo Alpe Adria Bank for nine years, performing a number of responsible tasks at the level of the entire banking group, including the development and implementation of a five-year IT strategy, the standardized IT controlling and planning process as well as a project management system.
