TIPS FOR SAFE USE OF PAYMENT CARDS

  
 
When making purchases online, make sure you use your card only in safe online stores. These stores are marked with 'MasterCard SecurCode' or 'Verified by Visa'.
 
  
 
Treat your card carefully, always keep it on you, and never leave it in your car or coatroom.
 
  
 
You can use your personal identification number (PIN) to draw cash at ATMs and verify payments. Remember your PIN after you receive it, and then destroy the envelope containing the PIN code.
 
  
 
Do not let the card out of your sight when making payments. Always check the amount on the POS terminal before entering your PIN.
 
  
 
If your card is lost or stolen, contact

the call centre at 00 386 1 583 41 or call 080 27 67 (24/7) toll-free.

After your register your card as stolen or lost, the card issuer or bank will block your card to prevent possible abuse.
 
  
 
If you detect anything unusual when using the ATM, abort the transaction, take your card and use a different ATM. Report the suspected abuse to the Bank by calling the number on the reverse side of your card, and/or alert the police at 113.

 
 
  
 
Turn on and use Security SMS serviceBy using this service, you will get a text message to your phone whenever you draw cash at an ATM or make a payment at a brick-and-mortar store, payment by phone or online, in Slovenia or abroad.
 
  
 
You can avoid worries and costs in case your personal belongings, such as your purse or keys, are lost or stolen by taking out our cards and personal belongings insurance.
 

ONLINE PURCHASES

 

After completing the purchase in the online store, you will be redirected to a verification page showing the notice that a one-time password will be sent to your mobile phone by text message (for example, phone number 0038641xxx456).


After clicking 'Continue', you will receive a text message with the following contents (example): “One-time password: 12345678, online purchase 25 March 2018, 11:17, card No. xxxx xxxx xxxx 1234, amount; EUR 17.32.”


You will then be redirected to the next page showing the details on the merchant, amount, date of purchase, and part of your card number. Enter the password you received by text message.



To facilitate online payments (to merchants marked ' Verified by Visa' or 'MasterCard SecureCode') we need your mobile phone number. You can log the number in your online banking portal or visit any Branch Office.
