Moody´s Investors Service (Moody´s) has upgraded Nova KBM´s Long-Term Deposit Rating to 'B2' from 'B3', while at the same time raising its Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA) and the adjusted BCA to 'b3' from 'caa1'. The outlook on the long-term deposit ratings is positive.

The upgrade of the financial strength rating (BCA) was mainly driven by Nova KBM´s improving asset quality and capital position, coupled with a reduction in the level of its NPLs. In the first half of 2016, the level of NPLs on the books of the Nova KBM Group declined by just over one percentage point, and the net amount of these loans has dropped by more than a third since the end of 2014.

For the first half of 2016, Nova KBM reported a net profit of €36.2 million, while the net profit of the Nova KBM Group amounted to €29.3 million, according to their unaudited results for the period. The Nova KBM Group´s total equity amounted to €644.3 million, an increase of 3.4% on the 2015 year-end figure, with its total capital adequacy ratio standing as high as 25.3%, reflecting its robust capital position. The liquidity position of the Nova KBM Group was also strong.

Moody´s considers that the Slovene banking system is continuing to recover, with the substantial improvement over the last few years in the bank financing conditions standing out in particular.
